Undertake research and write a report that addresses the following question:
In 2022, do a multinational enterprise (MNE)’s HOME–COUNTRY formal institutions

and culture still have any implications to its:

  1. Corporate Social Responsibilities
  2. Organizational Structure
  3. Foreign Entry Strategy

Illustrate your answer with ANY ONE MNE that satisfies the following requirements:

  1. The HOME country of your selected company must be an ADVANCED economy,
  2. The HOST country of your selected company must be an EMERGING or DEVELOPING economy.
  3. In the analysis of corporate social responsibilities, you could consider any of the following three aspects, including your selected company’s ethical behavior, corporate social responsibility or sustainability activities in your chosen host country.
  4. In the analysis of organizational structure, you need to focus on the specific type of organizational structure that your selected company uses to organize its host- country operations. This corresponds to its internationalization strategy you will examine in the analysis of foreign entry strategy section.
  5. In the analysis of foreign entry strategy section, you need to examine how your selected company manages foreign exchange risks in addition to its entry mode and internationalization strategies.

Critically discuss whether your conclusion for each of the above questions applies to all firms originally from the same HOME country. Substantiate your argument with at least ONE company example.

Context

You can consider yourself as a regional executive or an international business analyst, who are asked to advise on the potential impact of the home-country institutional environment in 2022 on your chosen MNE’s corporate social responsibility, organizational structure and foreign entry strategy in its host country.

In addition to the above your paper should include:

  • An Executive Summary (max 200 words and outside of the 2,500 word limit). Note: an ‘Executive Summary’ is not an ‘Introduction’. An Introduction is an entrance into the paper. An Executive Summary is a ‘mini-summary of the whole paper including the main findings and conclusions, and the reader should be able to read the Executive Summary alone and understand the main points arising from all sections of the paper.
  • Appendices – where you can put your supporting information. These are not marked but are helpful for the marker to see. General notes
  • Word limit: 2,500 words (±10%), excluding Tables, Appendices and References.
  • The individual essay should be in Regular 12 point front, Times New Roman, 1.5 line spacing, justified alignment with Normal page margins (1 inch top, bottom, left and right) and page numbers in the bottom right.
  • The references should be formatted in the Harvard Referencing Style (see https://intranet.birmingham.ac.uk/as/libraryservices/library/referencing/icite/harvard/r eferencelist.aspx).
  • You must submit an electronic copy of your assignment.
